KAON PHYSICS AT KLOE THE KLOE COLLABORATION a

The most precise determination of Vus comes from semileptonic kaon decays. We have measured with the KLOE detector at DAΦNE, the Frascati φ factory, all the experimental inputs to Vus for both neutral and charged kaons. Using our results we extract the value of Vus with ∼ 0.9% fractional error, which is entirely dominated by the theoretical error on the knowledge of the normalization of the dec...

Unitarity and universality with kaon physics at KLOE

All relevant inputs for the extraction of the CKMmatrix element Vus fromKL, KS and K ± decays have been measured at KLOE. From a global fit using only KLOE results, but KS lifetime, a value of |Vus|f+(0) = 0.2157 ± 0.0006 is obtained, where f+(0) is the form factor parametrizing the hadronic matrix element evaluated at zero momentum transfer. Comparison of the values of f+(0) Vus for Ke3 and Kμ...

New Results from Kloe

The most precise determination of Vus comes from semileptonic kaon decays. We have measured with the KLOE detector at DAΦNE, the Frascati φ-factory, all the experimental inputs to Vus for both neutral and charged kaons. Using our results we extract the value of Vus with 0.9% fractional error, which is dominated by the theoretical error on the form factor, f+(0). A new determination of the ratio...

Kaon Physics

The most recent progress and future prospects in kaon physics are reviewed. Main results are the first observation of the rare decays KS → π ee and KS → π μμ by NA48, newK → πνν event observed by E949 and new precision measurements of KS,L → πeν decays by KTeV, KLOE and NA48 made in an effort to resolve the slight deviation from the unitarity in the CKM matrix, involving the |Vus| coupling.

6 Study of the branching ratio and charge asymmetry for the decay K S → πeν with the KLOE detector

Among some 400 million KSKL pairs produced in e +e− annihilations at DAΦNE, ∼ 6500 each of KS→π +e−ν̄ and KS→π −e+ν decays have been observed with the KLOE detector. From these, the ratio Γ(KS → πeν)/Γ(KS → π +π−) = (10.19 ± 0.13) × 10−4 is obtained, improving the accuracy on BR(KS → πeν) by a factor of four and providing the most precise test of the ∆S=∆Q rule. From the partial width Γ(KS → πeν...
